Full leaf teas impart the finest flavor characteristics to the water, whereas broken or crushed tea bag leaves often impart bitter properties to the tea.   Brewing Instructions Use cold, fresh bottled water. Bring the water just to a rolling boil. Pour the boiling water over the tea leaves into a teapot or a cup that has been preheated. Infuse according to taste or use the following guidelines. Do not over infuse tea or it may become bitter. Green Teas: 3–4 minutes. Black Teas: 3–5 minutes. Oolong Teas: 7–10 minutes. Herbal/Fruit Melange Infusions: 7–10 minutes.   Proper Storage To ensure freshness, always store your tea in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.   For centuries tea has been the beverage of distinction.
